Week 33

So tomorrow I will be 33 weeks pregnant, only 3 more weeks until my baby is full term! I'm so excited! I've been thinking about maternity leave and decided to take it Dec 5th. That's 12 days before my due date so if the baby is a little early, I will be ready and done all my nesting haha. I've moved the baby's stuff around the room so many times I hope I'll have it done before the baby decides to pop out of me :P. Anyways, heartburn has been a pain but I'm glad I don't have any other annoying pregnancy symptoms. It's still weird when the baby moves.  But in a good way except when it hurts.

Baby's movements

So my baby is now increasingly active s/he is moving more when I'm still. Te kicks are fine but the squirming is so weird! I love it I do but sometimes it feels like there's and alien trying to get out not a baby haha. Just a few more days to go i can't wait!

Being sick and pregnant!

As if being tired and in pain wasn't bad enough i'm now sick! This sucks a big one since there are so many medication i can't take. Ive thought about taking infant tylenol lol but of course no medication without a doctors ok. However i can drink a tea made of peppermint, lemon and ginger which has helped a little so far! I just wish i was allowed to drink more than 2 cups a day! Haha wish me luck! <3

Pregnancy and heartburn

Heartburn sucks! Apparently it's normal for pregnant women to have heartburn last longer than normal! Well my Dr. told me to take Zantac it does seem to dull the pain but I don't think I'll take it too often. Peppermint tea with ginger helps though it can lessen milk supply I just have to use in moderation haha.

Hospital bag

So I packed my hospital bag with less than 88 days (give or take 20 days based on how the baby wants to do this) I need to be prepared.Though I know I'm going to keep adding and changing it until i actually go in. But right now it has maxi pads, going home outfits for me and baby, 2 sleepers, slippers for me 4 receiving/swaddling blankets, 3 onesies, diapers, wipes, pacifier, a bottle, later i will add formula (just in case for some reason I can't breastfeed), breast pads, books to read, baby book, baby booties, mittens and hats. Of course I feel like I'm forgetting stuff. Haha

27 weeks pregnant

Im starting my seventh month pregnant. So many mom tell me they are jealous of how small I am. I'm both haply and sad that I'm not huge. I want that big belly everyone loves, but i like the shocked happy faces of people when they find out how far along I am. I'm also thankful that I haven't experienced the crazy pregnancy symptoms some women do. Although i know I'm not in the clear yet, many women have the mood swings, and other symptoms like hemorrhoids and morning sickness after the birth of the baby. I will work on my hospital bag tomorrow.

Finding out the gender

It's been a while since I posted. Well had my anatomy scan and well baby does not want to flash us their privates haha. the baby put the foot in the way and would not move it. haha guess we have to wait and see. My baby say "my privates are nobody's business." But all the old wives tales say I'm having a boy! Haha

Gender Predictions

I am now close to ending my 14th week of pregnancy ready to start week 15. My OB says between week 16-20 we will be finding out our baby's gender. Of course I'm excited but mainly happy because my little bundle of joy is healthy. Out of curiosity I looked up and tried a few old wives tales to predict the gender myself. So far the Chinese chart and Mayan calendar says my baby will be a boy. Along with the majority of the other wives tales I looked up to try. About 80% of them are saying I'm having a boy the other 20% predict girl. We will find out soon enough which prediction is true.

Second trimester

So I've recently started my second trimester. So far it's lovely, my energy is back for most of the day and the nausea is gone. I'm excited to start to show and to be feeling my baby's movements. I don't care what gender my baby is because both genders have their advantages and did advantage. All that matters is that my baby it healthy.

How to stop morning sickness!

If you feel like dinner in coming back up here's a few tips to keep is down. Sit or lay down, a lot of the time morning sickness is your bodies way of saying you are moving too fast! sitting or lay down will help calm your stomach down and stop morning sickness or at the very least stop prevent vomiting though the mild nausea will take a minute to subside. Smell peppermint or ginger, the smell sends comfort signals to your brain to calm it down. It also associates it with medicine or feeling better, many women find eating mints help prevent morning sickness. Eat ginger candy or drink ginger tea, ginger helps sooth your digestive track and will help stop or prevent nausea. Avoid sugar, fat and greasy food, high fats, sugars and oils will upset your stomach and make you want to throw up. Take deep breaths and tell yourself "I'm okay, I don't need to throw up, I'm fine." By doing this you are calming your body down helping it relax. I'm 11 weeks 3 days pregnant and have avoided morning sickness and vomiting by using these techniques. I hope they work for you too, happy pregnancy!

Back and other pregnancy pains

Pregnancy is taking its toll on my back. Laying on my back hurts on my right side makes me nauseous and hurts my lower back. Only relief is laying on my left side walking makes my hips and lower back hurt too! My legs have gotten heavy and sore. Luckily I have a loving man willing to massage peppermint oil on all my sore spots and boy does it help! It soothes me and relaxes all muscles, while fighting any inflammation I have.

Gin-gins and morning sickness

I find Gin-Gins chewy ginger candies to be my new best friend during pregnancy. My favourite is the spicy apple flavour. The ginger helps soothe my tummy and avoid morning sickness. They are sweet but use cane sugar so it doesn't upset my stomach. These are also all natural, vegan, fat and gluten free.

EPIDURAL

I was on the edge with deciding if I want an epidural so I started a post on it on babycenter.com at first I was calmed down and though maybe I'll have one. Now, I don't think I could stand it! I hate having IV's or catheters I hate the idea of a tube being inside me. A TUBE IN MY SPINE NO! I don't like the idea at all and definitely don't like the 1 in 1,000 for temporary damage and 1 in 13,000 for permanent is way to high for my comfort! I got some reassuring messages that going natural will hurt but having a full range of motion is better. Also recovering times seem to be faster going naturally. Most women said their labour was shorter without the epidural so I'm pretty convinced I don't want it. BUT in the end we will see if I can handle the pain come December. Until then I will workout the muscles I need to so I can avoid an epidural the best I can. Maybe they will let me get high instead LMAO JK

Fetus

At ten weeks and two days our little embryo is now a fetus. All my nausea has now subsided and I have found that my appetite has changed. I seem to be hungry more often but for smaller meals. I'm so excited to know my little one has little peach fuzz growing on his little head, the webbing on his fingers and toes are losing their webbing, and the joints are now working and he's kicking up a storm; good thing he's only 3 cm big or that might hurt! Bathroom breaks are getting better. Looking at all the things needed for the baby is discouraging we need so much money! haha! Well on the bright side I find I'm gain more engery.

Morning sickness

I have been lucky to spend my 9 weeks pregnant without morning sickness. That being throwing up, I have been nauseous to prevent getting sick I have been drinking ginger and peppermint tea. Using only fresh and organic material. On top of this tea I make sure i drink plenty of water especially before bed so when i wake up in the morning I don't get lightheaded. Avoiding the lightheadedness makes the transition from nonmotion to activity easier on my body making me less likely to get morning sickness as well as having a time everyday when I work out with pregnancy friendly exercises using the the Oh Baby! App for iPhones. Eating a healthy diet where I avoid greasy and spicy foods also helps. My favorite dish right now is a nice green salad with lime and a little sea salt instead of dressing. I hope this helps you out and feel free to follow me for other tips I find helpful as I enjoy my first pregnancy! Thank you for your time <3
